XAware, a data and web services company, wanted an insight into the future profitability of new online subscription structures. It was looking for a pragmatic simulation tool that could provide a rapid understanding of the results of different scenarios.

Task description

Designed a simulation model to calculate business cases and test the sensitivity of different assumptions.

Approach

Set up the structure for a revenue model by identifying subscription formats with accompanying sales prices and forecast sales numbers. Estimated the accompanying cost-related assumptions (product development, marketing and sales, ICT costs). Incorporated this information into a simulation model, built in Excel. Additionally, constructed a dynamic dashboard to change key parameters and carry out a sensitivity analysis.
