Analysis and system design, internal settlements

Different business units of the bank supply services to each other worldwide. The financial consequences of this must be clearly defined because of the different tax regimes in these countries. Group Finance established that the mutual balances of funds had to be clarified and there was a need for a better reconciliation process regarding service-level agreements.

Task description

Analysed the internal settlement positions and designed a better reconciliation process for SLAs.

Approach

Carried out a quick scan/GAP analysis to identify major differences in internal settlement positions, and facilitated decision-making. Managed functional and technical design teams and aligned the process with stakeholders in business units worldwide. Designed and implemented a plan of action for a future internal settlements process. Designed and structured a workflow tool to prevent future problems in the alignment of internal settlements positions.
