The various business units of this publishing group each had their own characteristics and management information. They needed to produce more uniform business-case and project-control reports, using a more streamlined process.

Set up a project control and business case methodology that is specific where it has to be and generic where it can be.

Approach

Responsible for advising, leading the project team and reporting to the steering group. Set up project control and investment decision methodologies. The challenge was to achieve the right balance between generic (uniform, comparable and usable for the entire organisation) and specific (considering the differences between business units). Working with controllers, business unit managers and management, Susanne developed two dashboard and reporting tools and a series of realisation and approval processes.
